This show starts up with Inuyasha demanding that Kagome give him the jewel or he'll kill her. Kagome takes off
running as Inuyasha chases her, trying to kill her. Kaede remarks that she somehow knew that this would be necessary and
magically places the rosary around Inuyasha's neck. Kagome then discovers the wonders of "Sit boy!" Kaede later
informs us that Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo and that she must now take on protection of the sacred jewel.
We also learn that fifty years have passed since Kikyo's death and Inuyasha's being pinned to the tree. Kagome tries
to make peace with Inuyasha, but he gets peeved at her and it doesn't work. That night as Kagome worries about having
been gone for two whole days as crows gather outside the building. Inuyasha chases them away and we catch a glimpse
of
the Carrion Crow. Kagome doesn't really pay much attention
to Kaede's warning about those who would like to have the jewel, and takes off into the woods by herself where she
is quickly apprehended by a gang of stupid thieves. The leader demands the jewel and tries to kill her. He misses
and kills his own man. Then he starts randomly swinging his sword at her, completely wrecking his house. While
this is happening, Inuyasha goes looking for her. Kagome throws the jewel outside, hoping that the boss will stop
trying to kill her. Just as the boss is about to kill Kagome, Inuyasha jumps in and saves her! Wow, he's so great.
Then Inuyasha discovers that the boss is dead and is being controlled by a Carrion Crow. Well the crow abandons it's
corpse puppet and takes off, grabbing the jewel before it flies away. It then swallows the jewel and Inuyasha grabs
Kagome, gives her a bow and arrows, and tells her to shoot
the crow. Of course, having never used one before,
she misses. By this time, the crow is huge, and as it flies over the town, it grabs a little boy, presumably to eat.
Inuyasha jumps up and shreds the crow and the little boy falls into the water. Kagome dives in and saves the little
boy. She doesn't even bother to get the jewel because she's peeved at Inuyasha. Then the crow comes back together,
and Kagome ties the foot that was still stuck to the little boy to an arrow so that it will hit. There's a brilliant
light and everyone is a little freaked out. Later, Kagome and Inuyasha are looking for the jewel, Kagome finds a shard
of the jewel and Inuyasha freaks out. Thus the mission to collect all the shards begins.

KATY'S RANTINGS
overall rating: 2/5
I give this episode 2/5 for several reasons. I absolutely
hate this show. The whole show bugs me, maybe because some of what the thieves say in English doesn't make sense.
Either way, it is vital to the show, being that this is where Kagome shatters the jewel. Now as to why i didn't give
it the other three stars. First of all, Kagome is so stupid in this show. Tell me, why she would go off on her
own? Tell me, why she would throw the jewel? Tell me one more thing, why didn't she go after the jewel after saving
the kid? Kagome's stupidity loses the show 2 points! The third point is lost because of the screwed up dialogue.
Yes, there you have it.
